Tiger Balm contains a number of carefully selected ingredients to ensure a maximum beneficial effect. These include camphor, menthol and the essential oils of cloves, cajeput, field mint and cinnamon. The essential oils are mixed with wax, so that the resulting balsam is easy to rub into the skin.
A rich history of more than 150 years
More than 150 years ago (in 1870, to be precise), a former herbal doctor at the imperial court in China, named Aw Chu Kin, opened a small pharmacy in Rangoon (Myanmar).
There, he developed and sold a unique Chinese vegetal pomade for the relief of muscle and joint pain. Since then, Tiger Balm has been used by many generations.
