Cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia)
Cinnamon is a densely leaved evergreen tree that belongs to the Lauracea family. It is indigenous to India and Sri Lanka. The essential oil is extracted from the bark of young twigs from a tree that is at least six years old. This oil has a sweet and spice-like fragrance and is also responsible for giving the red variant of Tiger Balm is distinctive red-brown colour. When applied to the skin, cinnamon generates a warming effect and gives energy.
